VIPCA participated in the first annual Board Meeting for the SBDC by teleconference March 18, 2019
May 22, 2019 VIPCA met in the Nisky Center with Steen C. Stovall, Interim State Director, Virgin Islands SBDC to discuss what advice could be given to new businesses starting-up in the Virgin Islands in the Marine Charter Industry.
Feedback from the marine charter sector for SBDC’s guidances to new charter businesses:
- Sign up with one of the major Caribbean Clearinghouses and also list yourself with Central Yacht Agent (centralyachtagent.com) in order to be listed on a yacht charter brokers website at some point in the future. This will also allow you to be found by us and other yacht charter brokers when we conduct yacht searches for potential charter clients.
- Attend the USVI Charter Yacht Show for charter brokers to gauge a better understanding of the industry and to integrate into it.
- Join Virgin Islands Professional Charter Association (VIPCA)
- Join a Virgin Islands based Clearing house: Charter Caribe, Charter House, Charter Yacht Solutions, VINE Charters
